Refurbishment of the Pharmacy at the Old School Surgery, Bristol
The current pharmacy had outgrown the limited space available and needed to make some changes to improve the service that was offered to the patients. A number of initial options were reviewed such as re-fitting the existing space or moving the pharmacy into another part of the building.
What we did
APM Healthcare worked with the surgery to identify a suitable solution for the pharmacy.
There was an unused meeting room adjacent to the waiting area which was an ideal location into which to move the pharmacy.
APM Healthcare worked with the pharmacy owner to design the pharmacy around the needs of the dispensary and how they worked to ensure that the pharmacy team could work efficiently. We designed a solution which transformed the area into a welcoming, functional & open plan dispensary.
APM Healthcare managed the whole process from the feasibility stage to the initial design. From which we then produced detailed design drawings, appointed a Structural Engineer and arranged the building control approvals. We liaised with the client on their exact requirements for bespoke joinery solutions, detailed design requirements and solutions for storage and security.
The project was managed by our own in house management team who looked at every detail of the project such as Health & Safety, minimising dust and noise and ensuring that the practice and pharmacy continued operating with minimum disruption during building work.
